Alex's Baptism/Children's Christmas Pageant

Dave, Sarah, Sean, Riley, Alex, Becky and Kevin

Alex was baptized on Sunday, the same day as the Children's pageant at church. Wyatt was a turkey, I know, I didn't understand that either, Lauren and Riley were both angels. Kaitlyn is still a little too young, maybe next year!

Chicago!

Andy and I decided to treat ourselves to a little vacation for the holidays. We left Kaitlyn with my parents and took a three day trip to Chicago. The weather in the city was great, it was in the high 30s all weekend so we were able to be outside a lot and see how the city was decorated for the holidays. While we were there we became the master of public transportation, we only got lost in a not-so-nice neighborhood once! We bought a CityPass which got us into a lot of different attractions. We went to the Field Museum of Natural History, Museum of Science and Industry, the Shedd Aquarium, experienced Christmas shopping on Magnificent Mile, saw the Winter Wonderfest at the Navy Pier, and of course we traveled to the top of the Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears tower. We tested my fear of heights by walking out on the glass bottom "Ledge" that was recently opened on the 103rd floor.

Dance Party!

My whole family got together for dinner last night. While we were waiting we had a little dance party in my paren'ts basement. Even Kaitlyn joined in the fun.

Kaitlyn's Day at Grandma's

Andy spent a week at the cabin with my dad, while he was gone my mom watched Kaitlyn during the days while I was at work. Here are a few pictures from her being silly on Friday.

Alex Joseph Gillespie

Kaitlyn became a big cousin on Friday the 6th. Becky and Sean gave welcomed Alex Joseph Gillespie late Friday night. He was 6 pounds and 9 ounces. After a long difficult pregnancy we are so happy that he is healthy and perfect! Kaitlyn doesn't quite know how she feels about not being the baby anymore. She kept trying to crawl all over my dad tonight when he was holding Alex.

Baker Boo!

This year we went to the Baker Park Campground in Maple Plain for Baker Boo with the church group. We had a blast! The weather was in the high 40s so we were able to be outside all afternoon. The day started with activities for the kids, mini golf, pumpkin carving, games, rock climbing wall, etc. At 5:30 everyone went on a parade through the park showing off their costumes, after that the kids got to trick or treat at each camp site. Kaitlyn was clutching her bag full of candy and loving it even though she won't be eating much of it. The activities continued with a magic show and a band but the kids didn't last that long, no naps makes for a really long day. Wyatt was a prince, Riley was a witch, Lauren was a dragon and Kaitlyn was a lion.

Nick or Treat

We took the kids to Nick or Treat at Nickelodean Universe at the Mall of America. The kids get wrist bands to ride all of the rides in the park and they participate in trick or treating, costume contests, and tons of other fun stuff. Kaitlyn is still too little to ride on the rides but she has a good time seeing all the people and lights in the park. She kept us all on our toes, she was walking everywhere!

Kaitlyn's Sorority Pose

Yes, she is playing video games in the bathroom.

During the past few weeks whenever we pull out a camera Kaitlyn tilts her head and smiles. My sisters say that it's her "sorority pose" here are a couple of shots from the last week.

Oktoberfest 2009

Berg's First Annual Oktoberfest!
My family used to go to Oktoberfest at a German restaurant near our house, when they
closed down last year we decided that we'd have our own celebration! Last weekend we had a full German celebration complete with yodeling, saurkraut eating contests and plenty of beer. Mom made brats, saurkraut, pretzels, spaetzle, and apple crisp. Rachel, Sarah, and I were the official "shot girls" so we helped keep the party going. Next year we'll have the fourth Berg girl handing out shots, Becky is 9 months pregnant and it's tough to find German maternity costumes! The party went until the wee hours of the morning and everyone is looking forward to the Second Annual Oktoberfest!
